Looking to throw a party? Don’t forget to incorporate the five main party activities of every party which have been developed over the history of parties. They are crafts, games, music or dance, gift giving and eating. All of these activities may show up at a party or only a few of them. It often depends on the type of party and the host’s inclinations.
Most craft activities are seen at children’s parties as a way of keeping the kid’s involved while still giving them something to take home and remember from the party. You can set up a little craft activity with glitter, glue, markers and construction paper.
Games are usually present at any kind of party, from adult to child. You’ve got your board games, outdoor games, and silly made up games all designed to get guests involved and laughing, some examples of each are clue, football and pin the tail on the donkey.
Music and dancing can also serve as a game. We’ve all heard of musical chairs or the cake walks at a church bake off. But it can also be a way of getting out that extra energy coming from the excitement of just being at the party. Gift giving is mostly seen at birthday parties or Christmas and Retirement type parties. Of course we all love getting and receiving gifts and setting up this activity, even at a party that doesn’t usually involve it will create a sense of anticipation in your guests. Last but certainly not least there’s eating. It seems that eating something is an essential part of the party going experience. It keeps up blood sugar levels and gives guests something to do during party moment lulls. Always make sure to at least set out a plate of cookies or bowl of chips at any events.

A SUPER Super Bowl party, needs a couple of great Super Bowl decorating ideas to WOW the football fans. As the end of January comes to an end and the Super Bowl grows closer, we make sure to establish a place where we are going to spend our Sunday watching the big game. If the established house is yours, take time too create an atmosphere that any football loving person would be proud to watch the big game at.
Decorate your party with the colors of the teams who are playing in the Super Bowl. Decorate a buffet table by painting white ten yard lines on a plastic green tablecloth plus constructing goal posts at either end of the table to resemble a real football field. Use football shaped confetti to sprinkle over the top of the table.
Football shaped light up ice cubes for your drinks in a variety of colors are a festive idea. Look for football shaped bowls or bowls in the shape of a helmet for all of your snacks. Use banners, posters and pennants for wall decorations. If you want you can make your own Super Bowl pennants, cut triangles of the teams colors out of paper or felt. Loop paper chains around the room. Cut strips of the team’s colors out of paper. Glue the strips into circles one on the other. Alternate the colors in a pattern.
Another fun and easy to make wall decoration is little jerseys. Cut shirt shapes out of felt or paper. Glue small numbers to the jerseys and attach them to string to hang around the room. For a cute affect use clothes pins to attach the jerseys to the string. Football fans will feel like they are at the game with all of the personal touches you put into your Super Bowl party.

Do you have a sports fanatic who is celebrating a birthday, retirement or graduation? Pick one sport or use a combination of the three for a theme party to celebrate. There are many fun ways to decorate and entertain guests with a sports theme.
If you have chosen one sport to focus on, use a ball or tool from the game. If you are using a combination, use a grouping of all of the balls. Party planning stores will have any party supply necessary to host a great event. There will be ball shaped invitations, wall hanging, athlete posters and other decorations to coordinate.
Use a ball shaped invitation. Make all guests wear the jersey of their favorite team. You could add in a stipulation that it has to be pro or college. You could also pick which state is has to be from if you have friends who root for teams in rival states!
The games to play at your party would be of course the sport or sports being highlighted. You could also use a famous athlete that goes with the chosen sport and do guessing games. Guess his stats, pin the name on the backs of everybody and they have to gather clues and find out who they are, etc.
Food can be shaped into the ball of choice. Use foods like pizza dough bread, cookies and cake which are moldable and fun to eat. A football shaped pizza, basketball cookies or even a soccer ball cake!
Party favors can come in many forms. They could be personalized trophies or actual equipment from the sport. You could make gag awards and have everyone vote like the All Stars - Best Dropped Ball, Best Worst Play, etc. Have fun with them and be creative to keep everyone laughing and having a good time.
Take pictures next to star athlete posters and save them in a scrapbook.
